2024-2025 District Basketball Championship finals

2025-04-10

The five-month-long 2024-2025 District Basketball Championships finished on 2 March at the Pieno žvaigždės Arena. After a five-year break, Pušalotas team Savi triumphed. They beat United 72:62 by ten points in the grand final. Some Lithuanian Basketball League teams could be envious of the kind of fan support that Savi felt during the final game. On Sunday, it seemed that almost half of the town of Pušalotas, with its elder Inga Jankauskaite in the forefront, came to the Pieno žvaigždžių Arena. Armed with bagpipes and drums, the emotional Savi fans seemed to become the sixth player on the court. United fans were also among the large crowd. Only their voices were much quieter and less organised than those of the opposing team. The two teams in the grand final were worthy of each other, so the intrigue remained until the final whistle. Meanwhile, there was no tension in the bronze medal match. Ustuki defeated Krinčino by 25 points 85:60. The consolation cup went to the "Įstra" team, who defeated the Pasvalys Sports School students. Nine teams took part in the district basketball championship. In addition to the aforementioned teams, the championship was also contested by Daujėnai, Saločių and Senukų basketball teams. As last year, the final day of the District Basketball Championship was officiated by Martynas Karaliūnas, a referee from the LCL, together with his namesake son. Special prizes were awarded to the best players of the teams: Vytautas Jakubaitis (Savi), Renaldas Rimkus (United), Vilius Valuntonis (Ustukiai), Audrius Stašaitis (Krinčinas). After a few years of break, V. V. Valtonantas, who returned to the district basketball Olympics this season, played in the team of Pušalotas Savi. Jakubaitis (captain), Andrius Ališauskas, Grant Avižienis, Ainius Adomavičius, Jonas Blinkevičius, Gintautas Blinkevičius, Ernestas Dobrodiejus, Ernestas Macevičius, Rokas Magelinskas, Kasparas Mikalajūnas, Martynas Tinteris, Tadas Tinteris, Paulius Tinteris, Domantas Varaskevičius, Ernestas Vedluga.
